I know I haven't written in a while but I've kept pretty busy and I'm not complaining! As my time in Los Angeles is sadly and quickly coming to an end, I wanted to do a recap of all the exciting things I've gotten to experience while here, even though my time here is not over yet so I'm sure there's a few more yet to come! Let's start with the most recent.... Pancakes and Booze...my first Art Event! Right in the Art District in Los Angeles, I attended my first art show! My roommate had her art displayed there and we tagged along for support. I do have to say her work looked a few steps above everyone else! There was music, lots of art, eclectic people, and of course I had to get some pancakes! It was a different atmosphere for me but I'm so happy I was able to go and support my friend! A few days before art was Sunday brunch! I went to the Fratelli Cafe on Melrose in Hollywood. The host informed us that their staff was down three people and it'd be about a 20 minute wait. It turns out we waited only about 10 minutes and I would have never known they were short of staff because the service was awesome! The food was great and we had the original mimosa to top it off. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant if you're ever in the area! It was a great last minute brunch spot because it was actually not the original plan for brunch that day...I had made reservations at another restaurant and had to cancel after accidentally leaving my dress for brunch at the hotel from my prior trip! Whoops! That takes us into my short stay at Disney the day before brunch..... Disneyland! My sister and her boyfriend came in town to visit me so we spent a long day at Disney! I have to say it's not quite the same as Disney World, but it was still just as magical! The week before Disneyland was a visit to the set of Liv and Maddie with my internship. We took a break from research and script coverage and got to visit the set and watch rehearsals for the episode they were filming that week! Unfortunately I can't post the awesome pictures we took on set until the episode airs! But...I can guarantee it will be a good one you don't want to miss! Liv and Maddie airs Sundays on Disney Channel, and if you watch closely you might even see me in the background of an episode or two! :) Which brings me to my next event.... I'm SAG eligible! Woohoo! You've probably seen this photo before and heard the news....But SAG stands for Screen Actors Guild and is union for actors like any other workers union. I'm eligible through the background work I've done on Liv and Maddie and a few other shows. This wouldn't have been possible without Chambers Stevens and my internship with Oops Doughnuts Productions! A few weeks prior to all of this, I hiked five miles to the Hollywood Sign from Griffith Park, watched the sun set over the Santa Monica Pier, ate at one of the most popular restaurants in Malibu called Nobu, AND went to a Kanye concert at the Hollywood Bowl. Let's just say California has been a dream. I'm so thankful to have this internship opportunity where I get to learn about the industry I want to be in, explore a new place, and have new experiences I wouldn't otherwise have. It's a good thing I have a few more weeks left because I'm not quite ready to leave California!! Thanks for reading! :)
