In need of a new date idea or trip for the family? I recently visited the Lakeridge Winery with my boyfriend and it was the perfect little day trip! It's a little less than an hour from UCF, and you'll enjoy the country-esq views along the way. We went on their opening holiday weekend and they had food, vendors, live music and of course lots of wine! We started with the wine tasting, which we later found out if you do the vineyard tour first it leads you to the FREE wine tasting! They put out different types of red and white wine and even a sample of champagne each day so it may be a bit different when you visit. We did the "tour" they had which was simply a video with Q&A right after and then they take you on a balcony that overlooks the vineyard. It was interesting but not that worth it to me personally. If it's not that important to you, I say skip the tour and go right for the wine tasting. The Chablis and Sunblush were the two bottles we took home, definitely my favorites! They do live music every weekend, but don't forget to bring your own chair or you might be left standing. It's family friendly as well! While kids can't obviously do the free wine tasting, they can eat great food and ice cream and dance to the live band. The food ranges from Spanish, to BBQ and much more! Make sure to bring cash though because you can't buy food and wine outside of the main store with a card. They have a Wine and Chocolate event coming up on December 10th and 11th and I have no doubt it'll be a great time. And if you're anything like me, putting those two things together would get me to go just about anywhere! So I took my boyfriend but as I said, it's family friendly and a nice trip that you and your significant other, or grandparents or you and your dogs can go take a day and visit! Hope you enjoy it as much as we did! :) XO -Sammie Thanks for reading!
